Accra Compost and Recycling Plant supports Adjen Kotoku police

Pure Organic Compost

The Accra Compost and Recycling Plant has presented two new motor bikes to the Adjen Kotoku District Command of the Ghana Police Service.

The presentation is aimed at augmenting the resources of the infant Police Station to carry out its mandate.

The Adjen Kotoku District Command was recently commissioned to provide security services in Adjen Kotoku a community in the Ga West Municipality. It is under the jurisdiction of the Ga West Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service.

The Managing Director of the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant - a subsidiary of the Zoomlion Group of Companies - Dr. Richard Amponsah noted that security is a shared responsibility and urged the public to contribute towards their own safety and security.

He explained that as part of the company's corporate social responsibility it was donating the two motorbikes to the police to assist the new station in carrying out its mandate of protecting lives and property.

"As a young office it needs resources to operate and as our widow's might we are donating these two motorbikes to support the work of the officers here," Dr. Amponsah stated.

He also commended the Police for efforts at ensuring security in the community, notably the increasing police visibility.

The Divisional Commander for Amasaman Chief Superintendent Cephas Coffie who received the bikes on behalf of the unit expressed gratitude to the management of the Accra Compost and Recycling plant for the gesture and urged other organisations to emulate.

"The motorbikes will help us a lot because the division is dotted with so many villagers and we find it difficult to patrol all these villages with our cars. Therefore the motorbikes will assist us in patrolling all areas." He stressed.

He also applauded the timeliness of the donation saying that it will help in bringing policing to the door step of the populace.

The Accra Compost and Recycling Plant Ltd was established at Adjen Kotoku by Zoomlion Ghana Ltd in 2011 to receive, process and recycle waste and to produce compost for agricultural benefits.

ACARP processes closes to 600 tonnes of Municipal Solid Waste per day.
