About ACARP

The Accra Compost and Recycling Plant (ACARP) is the first state-of the art waste sorting and composting facility in West Africa.
ACARP was established in July 2012 to provide a holistic integrated approach to managing Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) within the city of Accra and its environs. The plant, with a processing capacity of 600 metric tons per day (TPD), receives, sorts and produces high quality organic compost for agricultural and agronomical activities as well as other recyclable products such as plastics, paper, metal scraps for both local and international market.
ACARP believes strongly that recycling is good for the environment, human health and the economy and looks forward to the incorporation of recycling into national environmental policy.
